SPs UIN Jakarta Holds New Student Orientation for Even Semester 2025/2026
Auditorium of Prof. Dr. Suwito, MA SPs UIN Jakarta, SPs NEWS - The Graduate School (SPs) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a Study Orientation and Strengthening of Academic Skills for new students for the Even Semester Class of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The activity, which lasted for three days, from March 31 to April 2, 2026, was centered in the Auditorium Room of Prof. Dr. Suwito, MA, and was attended by all new students of the Master's and Doctoral programs.
The event was opened directly by the Director of SPs UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Zulkifli, MA. In his remarks, he gave high appreciation to the students who have chosen SPs as their port of further study. "You dare to enroll in SPs means you are brave," he said, referring to the high academic standards and strong intellectual traditions that SPs have maintained.

Also present at the opening were other leaders, Deputy Director Prof. Dr. Yusuf Rahman, MA, as well as the heads and secretaries of the study program, namely Prof. Dr. JM Muslimin, MA, Hamdani, MAg, Ph.D, Dr. Maswani, MA, and Dr. Rizqi Handayani, MA. The Chairman of the Committee, Mohammad Adnan, Ph.D, also ensured the readiness of a series of new student orientation events.
Entering the material session on the first day, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Rahman, MA, conveyed in depth about the Vision, Mission, and Qualifications of S2 and S3 Graduates. This presentation is aligned with the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), to ensure that students understand the global and national standards that must be achieved while studying at SPs UIN Jakarta.

The agenda continued with an exploration of history, curriculum, and course load delivered by Prof. Dr. JM Muslimin, MA (Head of the Doctoral Study Program) and Hamdani, M.Ag, Ph.D (Head of the Master of Islamic Studies Study Program). To close the first day, the technical aspects of the lecture were introduced through the simulation of the Academic Information System (AIS) and the introduction of campus facilities by a team of experts consisting of Afif Ahmad Faisal, ST, MM, M. Adam Hesa, M.Kom, and Jayadi, S.Kom.
The second day began with a thick intellectual atmosphere through the inaugural lecture entitled "Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies: Tradition and Innovation". Two speakers, Prof. Dr. Rusli, S.Ag, M.Soc.Sc, and Dr. Fu'ad Jabali, MA, (Homebase Lecturer SPs UIN Jakarta) This session was designed to understand the importance of maintaining Islamic scientific traditions while continuing to innovate in the midst of increasingly complex challenges.

No less crucial, the second session on the second day was focused on the use of the Graduate Research Library. Ulpah Andayani, S.Ag, SS, M.Hum, equips students with online source search strategies, reference management, and crucial issues regarding academic integrity, the use of Turnitin, and the wise use of AI in the academic world.
Entering the third day, the orientation focused on strengthening information literacy and the latest research trends. Dr. Alfida, S.Ag, S.IP, MLIS, guided a technical session on Bibliometrics for Mapping Research Trends and Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Students are also trained to use reference management applications such as Mendeley and Zotero to support the quality of their research.

The peak of the orientation was filled by Ummi Kultsum, M.Pd, Ph.D, who presented material on Academic Skill, Reading and Writing Skills. In this session, students are invited to hone their critical reading skills and qualified scientific writing techniques, which are the main capital for every researcher at the postgraduate level.
This series of orientations is expected to be a stepping stone for new students of the Even Semester Class of 2025/2026. With strong technical and philosophical provisions, SPs UIN Jakarta is optimistic that students will be able to complete their studies on time and produce scientific works that have a wide impact on society and the academic world.
