National Seminar, Refreshing Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies
Auditorium Prof. Dr. Suwito, MA SPs UIN Jakarta, BERITA SEKOLAH: The Graduate School (SPs) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a National Seminar entitled "Refreshing Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies: Current Trends, Challenges, and Contributions". The event, which took place at the Prof. Dr. Suwito, MA Auditorium, was attended by 84 participants, consisting of 67 paper presenters and 17 participants. This seminar is an important forum for discussion for academics, researchers, and practitioners in the field of Islamic studies.
The seminar was opened by the Director of SPs, Prof. Dr. Zulkifli, MA, who in his speech emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary Islamic studies in facing the challenges of the times. Also present were Deputy Director Prof. Yusuf Rahman, MA, and Head of the Master of Islamic Studies Study Program Hamdani, M.Ag, Ph.D, Secretary of the Master of Islamic Studies Study Program Dr. Rizqi Handayani, MA. The event is divided into two main sessions, namely a panel session and a parallel session, each of which offers in-depth perspectives and discussions.
The panel session featured three speakers, namely, Prof. Dr. Media Zainul Bahri, MA from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta opened the session with the material "Research and Human Interest: Negotiating Values and Interests in Contested Academic", discussing the importance of balancing values and interests in academic research.
Furthermore, Dr. Ahmad Suaedy, MA. Hum from Nahdlatul Ulama University Indonesia, Jakarta, presented material on "Islamic Studies of the Archipelago and Southeast Asia: Initiating the Orientation of Islamic Area Studies in Indonesia". He invited the participants to dig deeper into the richness of Islamic studies in the archipelago and Southeast Asia.
The third speaker, Haula Noor, Ph.D from the International Islamic University of Indonesia, delivered the material "Islamic Studies in a Changing World: Approaches and Current Trends". He discussed the latest trends and new approaches in Islamic studies in the midst of a rapidly changing world. This panel session was moderated by Ulpah Andayani, S.Ag, SS, M.Hum, who managed to guide the discussion smoothly and interactively.
The parallel session provided an opportunity for 67 paper presenters to present their research results. Various topics of interdisciplinary Islamic studies were discussed, reflecting the diversity and depth of research conducted by the participants. This session is a place for the exchange of ideas and knowledge that is very valuable.
This National Seminar is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of interdisciplinary Islamic studies in Indonesia. The participants gained new insights and inspiration to continue to develop research and thinking in this field.
