Designing the Academic Future: SPs UIN Jakarta Holds Curriculum Review Workshop

Kristal Hotel, SPs NEWS – The Graduate School (SPs) of the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a Curriculum Review Workshop . Located at the Kristal Hotel, the activity lasted for three days, from Thursday to Saturday, November 13-15, 2025, and became a strategic forum to ensure the quality of postgraduate education remained relevant and competitive in the era of disruption.

This workshop has a very crucial main objective, which is to review and improve the SPs curriculum that is already running. In addition, another important focus is to complete the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) and syllabus, especially for concentration courses. This step is seen as urgent to align learning outcomes with professional demands and the latest scientific developments.

This activity was attended by important ranks of UIN Jakarta, showing the institution's full commitment to the quality of higher education. All leaders of UIN Jakarta Rector and Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, SPs leaders, SPs homebase lecturers, central academic representatives, Pustipanda representatives, and SPs education staff (tendik) were present.  

The event was officially opened by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA, Ph.D. In his remarks, the Rector emphasized the importance of curriculum responsiveness to changing times. He hopes that through  this workshop, SPs UIN Jakarta will produce a curriculum that is truly adaptive and able to produce graduates who are ready to face global challenges.

In line with the Rector, the Director of SPs UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Zulkifli, MA, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the presence of all parties involved. The Director of SPs also reiterated his hope. According to him, the output of activities is not only limited to curriculum revisions, but also includes the completion of RPS documents, especially for concentration courses, as a guide for the implementation of learning in the classroom.

After the opening, the core session took on an inspirational theme: "Designing the Future of Academia: A Review of the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Curriculum Based on Digital Transformation and Sustainability." This session presented speakers Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, S.Ag, SH, MH, MA (Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of UIN Jakarta) and Jejen Jaenudin, S.Ag, M.Ed, Ph.D (Representative of the Quality Assurance Institute of UIN Jakarta), who provided strategic views on the direction of the postgraduate curriculum in the future.

To achieve optimal results, the workshop is divided into several work commissions. These commissions handle various crucial issues, ranging from the completion of the Guidelines for Writing Scientific Papers and the translation of the guidelines into Arabic, the Completion of the Status  of S2 and S3 Drop Out Students, to most importantly, completing the RPS Concentration Courses, including for specific concentrations such as Gender and Halal Products.

The highlight of the event was marked by the Commission's Work Results Report. Before the official closing, each commission presented the results of their discussions and recommendations. This report ensures that all workshop  targets ranging from a better curriculum, complete concentration course RPS, to the certainty of scientific writing guidelines have been achieved, marking the commitment of SPs UIN Jakarta in realizing superior postgraduate education.
