SPs UIN Jakarta Building, SPs NEWS - The Graduate School (SPs) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta received a visit from the Islamic Studies Program of the Postgraduate Doctoral Program of UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary (UIN Syahada) Padangsidimpuan on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. This visit is a strategic step in Benchmarking efforts to improve academic quality and strengthen the implementation of the Islamic Studies Study Program of the doctoral program in the Postgraduate environment of UIN Syahada.

The main agenda of the meeting focused on the exchange of information and best practices related to the management of doctoral programs. The team from the Postgraduate School of UIN Syahada wants to study in depth the model of implementing doctoral education that has been successfully implemented by SPs UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, which is known to have a strong track record in Islamic studies.

The delegation from the Postgraduate School of UIN Syahada was warmly welcomed by the leadership of SPs UIN Jakarta. Present at this reception were the Deputy Director of SPs, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Rahman, MA, accompanied by the Secretary of the Doctoral Study Program in Islamic Studies, Dr. Maswani, MA, the Secretary of the Master of Islamic Studies Study Program, Dr. Rizqi Handayani, MA, and the Head of the SPs Subdivision, Afif Ahmad Faisal, ST, MM.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Yusuf expressed his appreciation for the trust given by the Postgraduate School of UIN Syahada. He hopes that this visit can provide real and concrete benefits, especially in an effort to improve the quality of the implementation of the Islamic Studies Doctoral Program at UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan.

Prof. Yusuf then comprehensively explained various crucial aspects in the implementation of doctoral programs at SPs UIN Jakarta. The explanation includes starting from a relevant and adaptive curriculum, strict academic requirements, a transparent student selection process, to a research management model and cooperation with various institutions.

The main focus of the presentation was how SPs UIN Jakarta integrate superior academic values with the demands of the novelty of contemporary Islamic studies, which is the key to the success of their doctoral graduates. The details of the process presented are important provisions for UIN Syahada Postgraduates to evaluate and improve their internally.

Meanwhile, representatives from the Postgraduate School of UIN Syahada expressed their deep gratitude for the very open welcome and for all the valuable information that has been shared by SPs UIN Jakarta. They hope that the results of  this benchmarking will bring benefits and can be applied effectively at the Postgraduate School of UIN Syahada.

More than just an exchange of information, UIN Syahada also expressed the hope that the cooperation between these two institutions can continue and not stop only at  this benchmarking  visit. With the implementation  of this productive benchmarking activity  , it is hoped that the quality of service and academic strengthening in the Postgraduate environment of UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan can increase significantly, marking a shared commitment in advancing Islamic higher education in Indonesia.
